Join ICI and fellow art patrons for a seven-day journey through Uruguay, exploring one of South America’s most distinctive cultural ecosystems and the site of ICI’s most recent Curatorial Intensive program. Developed in collaboration with Laura Bardier, ICI Trustee and Founding Director of ESTE ARTE, this unique trip opens doors to a remarkable network of artists, collectors, and cultural leaders shaping Uruguay’s burgeoning art scene.
From the city of Montevideo to the luxurious seaside town of José Ignacio, ICI offers privileged access to artists' studios, private collections, and architectural landmarks, where the experience is personal, conversations are unhurried, and meaningful connections are made. In Montevideo, highlights include visits to the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales (MNAV) and exclusive private collections that are rarely accessible to the public. The itinerary continues to José Ignacio (home to contemporary art fair ESTE ARTE) where the group will visit Fundación Ama Amoedo, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Atchugarry (MACA), and take part in special gatherings hosted by key figures within the local cultural community.
This trip will also include exceptional dining experiences spotlighting Uruguay’s renowned cuisine and wines, and accommodations will feature Uruguay’s finest properties: Hotel Costanero, Montevideo and Bahía Vik, José Ignacio, to take in the expansive and unforgettable landscapes.
