The Curatorial Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean strengthens and expands access to ICI's programs for curators who are based in or engaged in dialogue with Latin America, the Caribbean, and its diasporas.

Grounded in the belief that curatorial perspectives which are shaped by distinct cultural, historical, and lived experiences enrich the entire field, the Curatorial Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean supports curators' participation across the full spectrum of ICI's work. This permanent, living fund grows and adapts alongside ICI's programming—from exhibitions, fellowships, and professional development programs to public convenings, research initiatives, and our alumni network—and therefore ensures that there are sustained opportunities for curators to develop ideas, build connections, and contribute to global conversations.

YOUR SUPPORT

Support for the Fund enables ICI to deepen our long-standing engagement throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, which has included:

  • Over 130 curators from Latin America and the Caribbean engaged through ICI's programs
  • 12 Curatorial Intensives, seminars, and professional development programs presented in or focused on the region since 2012
  • 9 traveling exhibitions in Latin America since 1975
  • 4 current and recent traveling exhibitions organized by Latin American curators or focused on the region and its diasporas: Never Spoken Again curated by David Ayala-Alfonso, Mud + Corn + Stone + Blue curated by Laura Augusta, Sunlight on the Sea Floor curated by Marina Reyes Franco and Paula Naughton, and Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art curated by C. Ondine Chavoya and David Evans Frantz

Over the next five years, we will expand opportunities for curators in the region and its diasporas, and strengthen the international networks that connect curators, artists, and institutions worldwide. By supporting these voices, the Curatorial Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean fosters greater exchange, collaboration, and visibility across borders.
