Independent Curators International (ICI) supports the work of curators to help create stronger art communities through experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement. Curators are arts community leaders and organizers who champion artistic practice; build essential infrastructures and institutions; and generate public engagement with art. Our collaborative programs connect curators across generations, and across social, political and cultural borders. They form an international framework for sharing knowledge and resources — promoting cultural exchange, access to art, and public awareness for the curator’s role.
Thai Art Archives
Thai Art Archives (f. 2010, Bangkok-New York) is Thailand’s first and only independent archives to focus on recovering, studying, documenting, preserving, and exhibiting the valuable ephemera—official and personal documents, sketchbooks, notebooks, diaries, photographs, and printed matter, among other items—of Thailand’s modern and contemporary artists. Now entering its third year in a special projects platform at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, the TAA raises public awareness of the historical significance of Thailand’s progressive, avant garde heritage through a dynamic program of public and educational events, ‘micro’ exhibitions, cataloging of special projects, scholar and student residencies, and international collaborations.
