Ilhan Ozan is an art historian and curator specializing in modern and contemporary art, exhibition histories, and transnational cultural exchange. He holds a PhD in History of Art and Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in History of Art and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU, and an MA in Philosophy and Social Thought from Istanbul Bilgi University. His dissertation, Exhibiting Contemporaneity, supervised by Terry Smith, investigates Turkey’s participation in major international biennials during the Cold War. He is currently developing his first book manuscript based on this research. Ozan previously worked in Research and Programs at Salt, Istanbul, where he contributed to exhibitions, archival projects, and public programming.
