Ericka Florez (b. Cali, Colombia, 1983) works in the field of contemporary art, curating projects in various formats (dance lectures, exhibitions, editing publications, writing curatorial essays, and organizing public programs). She has written for several art catalogs and magazines, including Terremoto, Revista Errata, laescuela.net, and A*desk, among others. She has also published several experimental works combining art criticism, essay, and fiction, such as El blanco Móvil, Hegelian Dancers, and Esfuerzos por nombrar. She has participated in portfolio reviews at institutions such as Rupert (Vilnius), the SOMA Mexico educational program, and La Escocesa in Barcelona. She has led art writing workshops at various museums, events, and artists' spaces, and recently taught in the continuing education curatorial diploma program at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. She has served as a juror for art competitions at Apexart, Pivo, Artlink, Idartes, and the Colombian Ministry of Culture. Her research focuses on the connections between art and education, and she has created, together with fellow artists from Cali, La Nocturna, a platform that experimented with formats and types of encounters around knowledge, and La Casa en el Aire, a transdisciplinary education experiment through art for children and families. She is currently the artistic director of the independent space Lugar a Dudas in Cali.
