For the second year, ICI is partnering with Villa Albertine and the Albertine Foundation to offer travel grants for U.S-based alumni of our professional development programs to conduct research in France.
Through the Étant Donnés Contemporary Art Curatorial Fellowship, Villa Albertine—which supports French-American cultural exchange in education and the arts—provides up to three research travel grants of $3,000 each for curators to engage with the French contemporary art ecosystem. These research travel grants are intended to provide American and U.S.-based curators in ICI's networks with expanded opportunities to conduct in-depth explorations of French cultural resources, as well as a forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among artists, professionals, researchers, and institutions. Fellows will also receive support from the Villa Albertine team and their connections with professionals in France, by expanding the participants’ network of contacts and directing them towards venues, artists, and directors of institutions that could be of interest for their research.
Funds are meant to contribute to covering costs of travel, lodging, per diems, insurance, or any other expenditures related to the research trip.
