Available to alumni of the Curatorial Intensive, former Curatorial Research Fellows, and Curatorial Seminar and Curatorial Forum participants
In 2023, ICI and FACE Foundation have partnered to offer U.S-based Curatorial Intensive alumni, current and former Curatorial Research Fellows, and Curatorial Seminar participants three research travel grants to conduct research in France.
FACE Foundation supports French-American cultural exchange in education and the arts, and will provide up to three research travel grants of $3,000 to engage with the French contemporary art ecosystem. The research travel grants are intended to expand the opportunities of American and U.S.-based curators in ICI's networks, to encourage in-depth explorations of French cultural resources, and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among artists, professionals, researchers, and institutions. The funds are meant to contribute to covering costs of travel, lodging, per diems, insurance, or any other expenditures related to the research trip.
The Villa Albertine team, in connection with professionals in France, will also provide its help to the selected curators to enlarge their contacts and orientate them towards venues, artists, and directors of institutions that could be of some interest for their research.
The deadline for applications is February 28, 2023, and awardees will be selected in May 2023 so that they may take their research trip between June 2023 and August 2024. This opportunity is available to Curatorial Intensive alumni, former Curatorial Research Fellows, and Curatorial Seminar participants.
