ICI Travels: Indonesia

Bali Purnati Center for the Arts, Bali, Indonesia.

Bali Purnati Center for the Arts, Bali, Indonesia.

Join ICI for an 8-day, 9-night patrons’ trip to Indonesia. This unparalleled opportunity takes place alongside our upcoming Curatorial Intensive, which brings together innovative emerging curators from around the world to work with leading arts professionals in the region.

The trip begins in Yogyakarta, where we will stay at the Phoenix Hotel and experience private tours of artists’ studios and galleries in a city that is central to Indonesian arts and culture. We then continue on to Bali with a 5-night stay at your very own private-pool villa at the Four Seasons Ubud. We’ll visit private collections, galleries, artists’ studios, and art spaces including the Bali Purnati Center for the Arts (pictured above), one of the partners for the Curatorial Intensive. Patrons will also attend the closing Curatorial Intensive Symposium and enjoy a special dinner with the participants, emerging curators from eleven different countries around the region. For those who wish to extend their trip, we encourage you to stay in Bali through March 12 to experience the ceremonies surrounding Nyepi (the Balinese New Year), to round out a once-in-a-lifetime trip that only ICI can provide.

This is the first time ICI Travels takes place alongside an ICI Curatorial Intensive, providing a unique opportunity for patrons to interact with Curatorial Intensive participants and our programming in real time. A portion of patron fees for ICI Travels goes toward our international programs, which bring people together around the critical work of curators and artists.

Program price includes accommodations from March 1–9, meals and refreshments, ground transportation, airport transfers, and admissions, as well as support for ICI’s programming. For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Development Manager Kayla Fanelli at kayla@curatorsintl.org.
