From an open competition resulting in over 130 proposals, 13 individuals from 10 countries and 3 states have been selected to come to New York and work with some of today’s leading curators and artists. On Monday, July 18, the Curatorial Intensive participants will present their developed exhibition proposals in a day-long symposium hosted by ICI at the Curatorial Hub. Additionally, independent curator Cecilia Alemani will give a keynote lecture discussing the development of her own curatorial practice and her role as the curatorial director of X Initiative and co-founder of No Soul For Sale.

Yulia Aksenova was born in Russia and currently lives and works in Moscow as curator of the Center of Contemporary Culture GARAGE, where she organizes shows of both Russian and international art.

Ieva Astahovska

Ieva Astahovska currently lives and works in Riga, Latvia as an art scholar, critic, and curator.

Lucy Badrocke

Lucy Badrocke lives and works in Bristol, UK as a curator and a project manager.

Freya Chou

Freya Chou is a curator and editor based in Hong Kong and Taipei.

Veronica Cordeiro

Veronica Cordeiro is a Brazilian artist, curator and writer based in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Shaun Dacey

Shaun Dacey is from Toronto, Canada and is based currently in Vancouver, Canada as the Director/Curator of Access Gallery.

Ryan Frank

Ryan Frank is an artist and curator based in Brooklyn, a native of California and a graduate of New York University.

Birta Gudjondottir

Birta Gudjonsdottir currently lives and works in Reykjavik, where she is a curator and an artist and a director of The Living Art Museum.

Sam Korman

Sam Korman is currently the assistant director of White Flag Projects.

Michal Novotny

Michal Novotny currently works in Prague, Czech Republic as an independent curator and art critic.

Ksenija Orelj

Ksenija Orelj lives and works in Rijeka, Croatia as a curator.

Cortney Stell

Cortney Lane Stell is a curator based in Denver, Colorado.

Banu Tulu

Banu Çiçek Tülü was born in Adana, Turkey and now lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
