Independent Curators International (ICI) supports the work of curators to help create stronger art communities through experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement. Curators are arts community leaders and organizers who champion artistic practice; build essential infrastructures and institutions; and generate public engagement with art. Our collaborative programs connect curators across generations, and across social, political and cultural borders. They form an international framework for sharing knowledge and resources — promoting cultural exchange, access to art, and public awareness for the curator’s role.
Stephanie Cristello

Stephanie Cristello (b. Toronto, Canada) is a critic and independent curator living and working in Chicago, IL. She is the Senior Editor US for ArtSlant, and is the founding Editor-in-Chief of THE SEEN, Chicago’s International Journal of Contemporary & Modern Art. She is a frequent contributor to the London-based publications ArtReview and Elephant Magazine, and her writing has appeared in Frieze Magazine, BOMB Magazine, and New American Paintings among other outlets, as well as numerous exhibition catalogues nationally and internationally. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013 with a Liberal Arts Thesis. She is currently the Director of Programming at EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art.
