Alper Turan is a curator, writer, and Ph.D. student in Art History at the University of Toronto, working between Berlin, Toronto, and Istanbul. He was the 2023–24 Curatorial Fellow at the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in New York and the 2023–24 General Idea Fellow at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. Previously, he was a curator at Protocinema, Istanbul and New York. His projects have been presented at institutions including Images Festival, Toronto; Iniva, London; Wallach Gallery & ArteEast, New York; Wiener Festwochen, Vienna; A Tale of a Tub, Rotterdam; Queer Museum and Volkskundemuseum, Vienna; and the 13th Sharjah Biennial. His writing has appeared in Texte zur Kunst, Metropolis M, C Magazine, Artnet, and OnCurating.
