Tráfico Visual

Based in Venezuela. Active since 2009

Tráfico Visual is a virtual platform focused on the promotion of content linked to contemporary art and the Venezuelan cultural scene. It was primarily established to supplement the lack of information on these topics. In collaboration with researchers, curators and artists, Tráfico Visual has succeeded in compiling a wide selection of essays, articles and reports that analyze essential aspects of art in the country and Latin America.

Tráfico Visual covers events in real time through various audiovisual tools (such as video streaming, virtual forums and a periodic publication of podcasts) that can be accessed on the website, generating spaces for people around the world to discuss aspects of the problematics of art and its contemporary practices.

The processing and archiving of this content led to the establishment of a video archive that can be publicly accessed and attempts to amend the insufficiency of reasonable repositories that take care of and maintain the historic memory of the artistic manifestations of the country. Assuming that the circulation of information is a determining factor for the amplification of knowledge, Tráfico Visual focuses its efforts on providing both a matrix of content as well as communication networks that incentivize and support the reflection on and debate of ideas.
