Sofía Dourron

Sofía Dourron is an art historian and curator from Buenos Aires. She has a BA in Management and Art History from the University of El Salvador and an MA in Argentine and Latin American Art History at the University of San Martín. She is a Curator at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, where she has curated the following exhibitions: Elba Bairon. Untitled (2017), Sergio Avello. Young multitalented professional (2017), Edgardo Antonio Vigo. Permanente Factory of Creative Chaos: 1954-1997(2016), Do it yourself. A Project by Lino Divas (2016), The Eccentric and Ultraenlightened (2016). She has also edited several exhibition catalogues, such as Vigo’s exhibition catalogue, and the Menesunda by Marta Minujin (2015) book. Since 2015, she is Director of independent space Nuevo Museo Energía de Arte Contemporáneo (La Ene), where she curated exhibitions like:​ ​Glusberg (2017); A war of all against all (2016), by Joaquín Segura; What the wind left behind. Publications by Fernanda Laguna​ ​(2015), Ghost Museum. MAMBA 1956-1960 (2013). She has also co-curated the exhibitions of La Ene’s collection: Sucursal, Bikini Wax, Ciudad de México (2016), Sala Luis Miró Quesada, Lima (2015), Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (2014); Colección, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Rosario, Santa Fé (2014). La Ene also carries out an artist residency and a plural program of activities. In 2015 she founded, together with artist Gala Berger, Paraguay Independent Printed Art Fair.
