Daniel DeLuca is an artist, curator, and the current Director of Mobius, the experimental artist group and artist-run center in Boston. As a curator, his work has focused on contemporary live art and conceptual art. He was the lead curator of People in Space, an infiltration of performances at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. He was previously Program Manager for the Berwick Research Institute’s Special Project Incubator Program and was Co-Director of the annual Eventworks festival held at The Pozen Center in Boston. DeLuca has also worked on numerous exhibitions with the ICA Boston, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, and the McMullen Museum at Boston College. As an artist, his projects are concept oriented and integrate live actions, context specificity, photography, and appropriated materials. DeLuca's work explores structures and concepts related to globalizing culture, art, and language. He has shown nationally and internationally in private and public spaces, galleries, and festivals. In addition, he has developed multiple artistic research projects that investigate large-scale recurring events around the world including the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China; the 2012 Spring Equinox Festival in Mexico; and the 2013 Maha Kumbh Mela in India. DeLuca graduated with honors from the Studio for Interrelated Media at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
