Adeola Enigbokan

Adeola Enigbokan is a New York-based artist and writer. She holds a BA from Columbia University, where she studied Anthropology and Visual Arts, and is completing her doctorate at CUNY Graduate Center. Her recent curatorial projects include being a founding member of the Institute for Art Scene Studies, which brings together artists and social researchers to interpret the behavioral scripts and performances arising within contemporary art worlds (2012–13); The Renters’ Archive (2013), an ongoing collaboration between artists, urbanists, and tenants, investigating social and historical experiences of renting homes in the United States; and Body Language: Postcards from the Russian City (2011–12), a collection of archival and contemporary photography of everyday life in a specific district of Moscow. Her work has been shown internationally at Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design (Moscow), Center for Independent Social Research (St. Petersburg), Van Leer Institute (Jerusalem), El Museo del Barrio (New York), Anthology Film Archives (New York), Royal Geographical Society (London), Royal Institute for British Architects (London), Beijing Normal University, vessel art project (Italy), and Open Engagement (Portland).
