Jaime Cerón is a graduate of fine arts from the National University of Colombia where he also received his masters in History and Theory of Art. His work focuses on five areas: teaching, critique, curating, theoretical research, and cultural management, which he has been simultaneously developing since 1994. Cerón has taught in the fine arts departments of the following universities: Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Los Andes, and Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá, Javeriana y Nacional. In 1997 he began to work with the Institute for Culture and Tourism, where he served as manager of Fine Arts until July 2007. He worked as an art critic and independent curator until September 2010. As of October 2010 he serves as an advisor of visual arts for the Ministry of Culture in Bogotá.
