Joanna Szupinska

Joanna Szupinska is senior curator at UCR ARTS: California Museum of Photography (CMP) and Culver Center of the Arts. Her current exhibition Christina Fernandez: Multiple Exposures, the artist’s first retrospective, is on view at the DePaul Art Museum, Chicago (2025). The accompanying publication has been celebrated by the International Latino Book Awards, the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY), and the Association for Latin American Art (ALAA). Szupinska is pursuing a PhD in Art History at UCLA, where she is writing a dissertation on photography in Communist Poland. Previously she earned her MA in Art History at UCLA, and her MA in Curatorial Practice at the California College of the Arts, San Francisco.
