Planned Giving

When our network of collaborators was asked to name another organization that does work like ICI’s, the response was unanimous: There isn’t one. In the face of numerous challenges, ICI has proven to be responsive, resilient, and deeply valued in its field, and remains an anchoring force whose impacts can be felt across the entire global art world.

Looking toward ICI’s 50th anniversary in 2025, I feel inspired and compelled to secure this crucial organization’s success and long-term future. ICI is stronger than ever, and by including them in our estate planning, we can ensure that they thrive for an additional 50 years!

With a Legacy Gift, you will make a lasting impact on curators and their art communities around the world for generations to come, securing and expanding over the next 50 years ICI's global network of collaborators who shape the future of the curatorial field. A donation of any size can make a significant impact in helping curators create transformational changes in their practices and art communities. Donors who commit to a planned gift are also recognized as Legacy Sponsors.

ICI can currently accept the following types of Legacy Gifts through planned giving. Please consult with your tax and legal advisors to learn how these gifts may provide tax advantages and financial benefits to your estate.

1. Gift by Will or Trust:

You can make a transformational gift to ICI by including a bequest in your will or revocable trust. This can take the form of a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate or trust. Naming ICI as a beneficiary requires that you add specific language to your will or trust agreement. (Sample language: “I give (specific amount or percentage of estate) to Independent Curators International (ICI), a nonprofit section 501(c)(3) corporation, organized under the laws of New York, with principal business address of 401 Broadway, Suite 1620, New York, NY 10013, and the tax identification number of 52-1020481, for its general charitable purposes.”)

2. Retirement Assets:

You can name ICI as a beneficiary of a retirement account. This can take the form of a set dollar amount or a percentage of the account. Naming ICI as a beneficiary is accomplished by updating the change of beneficiary form provided by your account custodian.

3. Life Insurance:

You can name ICI as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. This can be accomplished by updating the change of beneficiary form provided by your life insurance company or by purchasing a new policy to benefit ICI.

We invite you to join the Legacy Sponsors and be a part of cementing ICI’s financial foundation for decades to come. If you have made this commitment and are ready to notify us, please fill out the Planned Giving Intent Form and return it to ICI, 401 Broadway, Suite 1620, New York, NY, 10013.
