Independent Curators International (ICI) supports the work of curators to help create stronger art communities through experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement. Curators are arts community leaders and organizers who champion artistic practice; build essential infrastructures and institutions; and generate public engagement with art. Our collaborative programs connect curators across generations, and across social, political and cultural borders. They form an international framework for sharing knowledge and resources — promoting cultural exchange, access to art, and public awareness for the curator’s role.
Sarah Gentile is an archivist, writer, and feminist living in Brooklyn, NY. She is currently Associate Archivist for Digital Collections at Brooklyn Museum. She holds a BA from UMASS, and an MA in Library Science from CUNY. Along with other collaborators, she has created and produced the Bad Feminist Reading series and is a founding editor of the literary journal Crown.
Shadows and Outlines: An Incomplete Portrait of the Reanimation Library
The Reanimation Library is a small, independent public library based in Brooklyn. Shadows and Outlines is a set of short readings made up entirely of excerpts from the library’s holdings paired with projected images from its image archive.
