Chloe Reith

Chloe Reith (Aberdeen, 1982) is a curator and writer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since 2013 Chloe has been Exhibitions Officer at Inverleith House, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Recent exhibitions curated for the gallery include Nicolas Party: Boys and Pastel (2015), Raoul De Keyser: Paintings 1967 – 2011 (2015) and Tony Conrad: Invented Acoustical Tools 1967 – 2014 (2014). She has also supported the delivery of exhibitions by Isa Genzken, Corin Sworn and Alex Dordoy. In 2013 she presented a group exhibition of emerging artists, Reality and Constructed Factual, as part of the Art Sheffield festival of contemporary art, an independent project supported by Arts Council England. She has developed projects including the S1/SALON 2012 screening programme for S1 Artspace, Sheffield where she supported new commissions and exhibitions by Jennifer West, Melissa Gordon and Jessica Warboys. Chloe has also held posts at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead and Portfolio Contemporary Photography Magazine, project managing the national Jerwood Photography Awards. She has written for publications including Kaleidoscope, Corridor8, thisistomorrow and Line Magazine and was a commissioned writer for All Points North. Chloe studied MA Art Museum & Gallery Studies, at Newcastle University, passing with Distinction, and MA History of Art and English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. Her current research interests include curatorial agency and the status of curatorship, as well as the politics of display - subjects she will be addressing in a co-curated group exhibition to be presented in Edinburgh in late 2015.
