Christopher Gregory-Rivera is a Puerto Rican artist based in New York City particularly interested in reconstructing historic narratives through documentary, still life, and archival research. His latest project, Las Carpetas, reimagines political memory in Puerto Rico using secret police surveillance archives. It has recently been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, the Abrons Arts Center in New York, and at the Maine Institute of Contemporary Art. It is the subject of an episode for the WNYC show “La Brega” and in 2023, the project's book iteration El Gobierno Te Odia was shortlisted for the Paris Photo/ Aperture Photobook Award.
