Anthony Huberman is a curator and writer based in New York, where he is currently the the Artistic Director of GPS (Giorno Poetry Systems). Previously, Huberman was the Director and Chief Curator of the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts in San Francisco. From 2010 to 2013, he was the Founding Director of The Artist's Institute and a distinguished lecturer at Hunter College; and from 2007 to 2010 he served as chief curator of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, where he organized exhibitions of Richard Artschwager, Elad Lassry, Gedi Sibony, Lutz Bacher, Bruce Nauman, John Armleder, and Olivier Mosset, and he initiated The Front Room, an ongoing exhibition series with young artists. He previously worked as a curator at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and SculptureCenter in New York, and was the director of education and public programs at MoMA PS1 in New York (1999–2003). He has published numerous articles in art periodicals, including Artforum, Afterall, Mousse, and DotDotDot. He was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland.
