Caira Moreira is a curator, researcher, and art historian whose work investigates themes of postcolonialism, migration, identity, and visual culture, focusing specifically on contemporary African and Caribbean diasporic art. As a practitioner, she expands her work through her curatorial platform, Caira Moreira Projects, developing rotating exhibition programs for non-traditional spaces and framing interiors as evolving visual systems that champion emerging Chicago and Midwest artists. Her extensive arts administration and VIP relations experience includes roles at MIR Appraisal Services, EXPO CHICAGO, SAIC Galleries, Petzel Gallery, and The Wexner Center for the Arts. Caira expands her curatorial dialogue through arts writing for publications like Hyperallergic and Sixty Inches From Center, and via her digital platform, The Curatorial Blonde. She earned her M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her B.A. in Art History from The Ohio State University.
