Carol Bedoy is a curator raised between Chicago and Aguascalientes. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA 2021), where she developed her artistic practice in photography, filmmaking, and printmaking. During her time there, she began her curatorial career as Director of Administration at SITE Galleries, producing student exhibitions and programs. This multidisciplinary background continues to shape her curatorial approach, which is rooted in advocating for artists’ visions and creating space for their work to come to fruition. After graduating, she curated exhibitions with El Otro Lado, a Mexican-American lens-based collective, in both Chicago and Austin. In 2024, she was selected for the inaugural cohort of New Curators, a London-based training program supporting emerging curators of contemporary art from lower socio-economic backgrounds. As part of the program, she co-curated Sueño De La Madrugada at the South London Gallery, Firelei Báez’s first UK solo exhibition. Bedoy’s practice centers on representation, artist advocacy, and opening gallery spaces to working-class communities.
