Yuji de Torres is a cultural worker based in Manila, working through curatorial research and as an educator. In 2018, they co-founded a nomadic curatorial initiative, kiat kiat projects. They received their MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies of Contemporary Art at the National Taipei University of Education in 2023. They are currently an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, College of Fine Arts, Department of Theory.
In 2023, they received an Emerging Writers Fellowship from the journal Southeast of Now: Directions in Contemporary and Modern Art in Asia. They also received a research grant from the Kalaw-Ledesma Foundation Inc. in 2025. They have participated in international intensives such as the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Summer School in 2022 and the Workshops for Emerging Arts Professionals by Para Site, Hong Kong in 2024.
