Christine Y. Kim is a curator of contemporary art based in Los Angeles. From 2021 to 2026, she served as the Britton Family Curator-at-Large for North American Art at Tate. She previously spent more than a decade as Curator of Contemporary Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), where she organized landmark exhibitions such as Julie Mehretu: A Survey (2019), and a retrospective of James Turrell. At LACMA, she played a central role in expanding and diversifying the museum’s collection. Earlier in her career, Kim was Associate Curator at The Studio Museum in Harlem, where she co-curated the groundbreaking exhibition Freestyle (2001), which helped shape a new generation of contemporary art. She serves on the Boards of Trustees of GYOPO, Museums Moving Forward (MMF), and Denniston Hill.
