Oscar Santillán lives between The Netherlands and Ecuador. As an artist and cybernetician, his work brings together a diverse ecology of knowledge producers, ranging from scientists to beings beyond the human. He embarked on a long-term project called Antimundo oriented towards rediscovering lost episodes of the history of science in Latin America, which requires a seamless mutation between indigenous cosmologies and disrupting sci-fi imaginaries. Oscar's work has been exhibited at the 7th Yokohama Triennale (JP), MUAC (MX), LACMA (US), NRW FORUM Düsseldorf (DE), Kröller-Müller Museum (NL), Socrates Park (US), 22 Bienal de Arte Paiz (GT), FRAC Île-de-france, Paris (FR), Kunstinstituut Melly (NL), Museo de la Universidad Nacional, Bogotá (CO), Ballroom Marfa (US), IMMA (IE), among others. Throughout the years, he has been an artist-in-residence at Delfina Foundation (UK), Leiden Astronomical Observatory (NL), Jan van Eyck (NL), Ratti Foundation (IT), Skowhegan (US), and NIAS (NL). Oscar holds an MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University (US) and teaches at AKV|St. Joost (NL).
