Erkan Öznur (b. Turkey, 1976) holds an MFA from the Sculpture department at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art, Germany, and a BA in Classical Archaeology from the University of Istanbul, Turkey. Recent exhibitions include: Metaphysics of Space, Noks Art Space (solo), Istanbul, Turkey (2019); The Cat is Killing the Birds, but I Love her Anyway, La Casita, Bogotá, Colombia (2018); Shades of Today: Picking up the Pieces of Post-Truth, Centrum, Berlin, Germany (2017); A Journey Into an Empty Room (solo), Montagenhalle, Berlin (2017); Leg los!, 48 Stunden Neukölln, Schillerpalais, Berlin (2015); and UHU, Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz, Berlin (2014). In 2018, he was awarded a grant by SAHA Foundation to take part in the Escuela FLORA residency program in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2022, he was awarded the Scholarship of NEUSTART KULTUR by Kunstfond Foundation. He lives and works in Ireland.
