Ulrik Lopez (Mexico, 1989) began his university studies in 2009 at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico (EAP) in Old San Juan, and in 2012 was accepted into the art program, Soma Summer, at SOMA in the Mexico City. In 2013, he obtained a BFA in Sculpture with a minor degree in Industrial Design. He participated in the independent program La Práctica in Old San Juan from 2013 to 2014, and started a Masters in Critical Theory of Aesthetics at 17 Instituto de Estudios Críticos in Mexico City. Lopez has exhibited in different museums and independent spaces in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the United States such as: el Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, México, Mana Contemporary Miami, USA, Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation, USA, Consejo para la Cultura y las Artes de Nuevo León (Conarte), México, Galería Agustina Ferreyra, Puerto Rico, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Tamaulipas, México, LACE, USA, Instituto de la Cultura Puertorriqueña, Puerto Rico, Museo Casa Blanca, Puerto Rico. He is currently a participant in the 14th Sharjah Biennial: Leaving the Echo Chamber.
