Beatriz Alonso is an independent curator based in Madrid. Recent projects include the group exhibition ‘La timidez de la copa de los árboles’, a coproduction by 49 Nord 6 Est-Frac Lorraine (Metz, FR, 2017), MARCO Vigo (ES, 2017) and SFKM Førde (NO, 2018) awarded with their Award for Young Curators, and ‘No siempre que estuvimos / estuvimos’, a cycle of specific proposals by Luz Broto, Diego Delas, Marta Fernández Calvo, PLAYdramaturgia, Wilfredo Prieto, Leonor Serrano Rivas, Julia Spínola and Marc Vives held at four historical museums in Madrid in 2017. Previously, she has curated exhibitions and screenings at CA2M, La Casa Encendida, Sala de Arte Joven, Salón (Madrid, ES), MACBA (Barcelona, ES) and Centro de Arte La Regenta (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, ES). She has been curator in residence at Lugar a dudas (Cali, CO, 2015), and researcher at the Centre Pompidou (Paris, FR, 2010), and at the Musée du Louvre (Paris, FR, 2006). Upcoming projects include the co-curated group exhibition 'Querer parecer noche' that will take place at CA2M, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (Madrid, ES, 2018-2019), and a solo show by Dalila Gonçalves at Centro de Arte Alcobendas (Madrid, ES, 2018). She holds a BA in Art History from the Universidad Complutense and a MA in Contemporary Art from the Universidad Europea, both in Madrid.
