Tony Cruz Pabón (b. 1977) lives and works in Puerto Rico. He graduated from Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico in 2000. During the last several years, his work has been shown at Spirit Levels, CCA in Glasgow (2014), “III Tirenal Poli/Gráfica de San Juan: América Latina y el Caribe”, San Juan, Puerto Rico (2009), The Peripatetic School: Itinerant Drawing from Latin America, Drawing Room, Londres, Ingraterra (2011), Casas Reigner Gallery, Bogotá, Colombia (2010), “Centro de Cultura Chacao”, Venezuela (2009) and Luisa Strina gallery, Sao Paulo, Brazil (2008). His work was included in the Infinite Island: Contemporary Caribbean Art exhibition at Brooklyn Museum, NY, USA (2007) and “Estrecho dudoso. Rutas intangibles/Límites” (2006) and “Iconofagia” (2004), both in San José, Costa Rica. Also, Tony Cruz's work has been featured in “VIII Bienal Internacional de Pintura de Cuenca”, Ecuador; “V Bienal del Caribe” Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; and “VII Bienal de la Habana” in Habana, Cuba. Currently he is Co-Director and Co-Founder of the cultural space Beta-Local. Beta-Local has a production program, an experimental education project, and a platform for critical discussion and production in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
