Meg Cranston is a Los Angeles based artist. Her work in sculpture, performance and video along with numerous public and artist curatorial projects has been shown internationally. Her work came to prominence at the 1990’s in the exhibitions such as Helter Skelter at Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and the 1993 La Biennale di Venezia. Her recent work has been shown at the Neuer Aachener Kunstverein, Aachen, Germany, The Getty Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, Museum Abteiberg, Mönchengladbach, The Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh, K21 Museum, Dusseldorf, and the ICA, London. She is the recipient of John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, the Architectural Foundation of America, Art in Public Places Award, and numerous other prizes.
Together with Hans Ulrich Obrist, Cranston is co-editing a book of the collected writings of artist John Baldessari to be published by JRP Ringier, Zurich. Cranston is the Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Otis College of Art and Design.
