Jack Schneider

Jack Schneider is Assistant Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago where he has organized exhibitions including Arthur Jafa: Works from the MCA Collection (2024-25), Atrium Project: Lotus Laurie Kang (2023-24), Christina Quarles (2021–22), Dan Peterman: Sulfur Cycle 2.0 (2021–22), Chicago Works: Deborah Stratman (2020), Becoming The Breeze: Alex Chitty and Alexander Calder (2019–20), Water After All (2019–20), and Direct Message: Art, Language, and Power (2019–20). Additionally, he was part of the curatorial team for numerous MCA exhibitions including Nicole Eisenman: What Happened (2024), Faith Ringgold: American People (2023-24), Gary Simmons: Public Enemy (2023), Nick Cave: Forothermore (2022), Martine Syms: She Mad Season One (2022), The Long Dream (2020–21), and Duro Olowu: Seeing Chicago (2020). Schneider is co-director of Prairie, an independent exhibition space he founded with Tim Mann in 2017 that focuses on emerging and experimental artists. At Prairie, Schneider has organized early career exhibitions with artists including ektor garcia, Ficus Interfaith, Isabelle Frances McGuire, Institute of Queer Ecology, and Max Guy, among others. Schneider holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MA in Art History from the University of Chicago.
