Chadrack Kakule is a curator and researcher. Through thinking and curatorial projects, his research engages with philosophy, theories that are questioning the reproduction of oppressive cultural systems in Africa and contemporary artistic practices. He is involved in many local, regional and international collaborations with universities, art centers, museums, communities, etc. He currently lives in Lubumbashi where he has curated and organised discursive workshops, exhibitions. He has a particular interest in the issue of knowledge production, the restitution of human remains and artifacts, social justice, and decolonial thinking. In January 2022, he joined the team of Centre d’art Waza, a pioneering structure for the development of contemporary art in Lubumbashi. His current exhibition project focuses on colonial violence through an investigation of public space. He is committed to expanding curatorial discourse internationally.
