Los Angeles-based artist Edgar Arceneaux will present a selection of projects from the last decade that include drawings, installations, collaborations, and the Watts House Project, an artist-driven neighborhood redevelopment project centered in the historic neighborhood of the Watts Towers in Watts, California. Arceneaux will present the deep connection between studio and socially-based practices, which are commonly understood as oppositional modalities. For his program at the Hub, Arceneaux will invite the audience to participate in the discussion, to think through these ideas, and to share opinions. If you wish to participate in the program as a moderator or presenter, please email rsvp@curatorsintl.org. The event is co-organized with artist Phillip Spradley.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Please RSVP to rsvp@curatorsintl.org with ARCENEAUX in the subject field.
