Daril Fortis is a Tijuana-based curator whose practice is focused on the intersection of the politics of memory, performance art, archives, and bodies. He currently serves as the Director of Museums and Galleries at the Secretariat of Culture of Baja California.
From 2014 to 2019, he was the Program Coordinator at the art organization Periférica, where he designed the educational program on art criticism, Monitoreo (2017-2019); led the artist-run spaces archive Hacer Memoria; and co-curated exhibitions in art fairs. Since 2017, he has also conducted a research project focusing on the history of performance art in the Tijuana-San Diego border region.
He holds an M.Sc. in Sociocultural Studies from the Institute for Cultural Research-Museum of the Autonomous University of Baja California and an Archives Management Specialization from the Mexican School of Archives.
