Bruno Alves de Almeida

Bruno Alves de Almeida (b. 1987, Brazil/ Portugal) is a curator and architect whose practice is rooted in site-specificity and attuned to the socio-spatial dynamics of place. His projects extend beyond traditional exhibition formats into public and liminal spaces, interweaving art, architecture, urban theory, the social and natural sciences, and other disciplinary realms.

Bruno is currently Curator and Resident Liaison at the Jan van Eyck Academie (NL, 2020-ongoing), Brooks International Fellow at TATE in collaboration with Delfina Foundation (UK, 2025), and recipient of the Mondriaan Fonds’ Curator Researcher Grant for his project "Threshold Institutions, Liminal Practices" (NL, 2025).

Previously, he was Artistic Director and co-curator of the Luleå Biennial 2024 – Art & Architecture (SE, 2024), and has collaborated with institutions such as: Harvard Graduate School of Design, Storefront for Art and Architecture, Independent Curators International (USA), The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CAN), PACT Zollverein (DE), the 11th São Paulo Architecture Biennial, Pivô Art and Research (BR), among other. He is an alumnus of the De Appel Curatorial Programme (NL).
