Elvira Dyangani Ose is the artistic director of Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA), in Cape Town, South Africa. From 2021 to 2026 she was the director of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA).
Prior to this, she was the director and chief curator of The Showroom in London, from 2018 to 2021; curator of international art at Tate Modern, London, from 2011 to 2014; curator of contemporary art at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC), Seville, from 2026 to 2008; and curator of contemporary art at the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM) in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, from 2004 to 2006. She also served as a lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London, and a member of the Thought Council, Fondazione Prada. She curated the Göteborg International Biennial of Contemporary Art (2015); and Rencontres Picha – Lubumbashi Biennial, Democratic Republic of the Congo (2013).
