Carissa Lee Pinckney

Carissa Lee Pinckney is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, curator and producer based in Chicago whose work spans performance, sound, poetry, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Their work has been presented in the U.S. and Canada, through performances, residencies, and public programs focused on experimental and socially engaged practice. She is the creator of Thrival, an ongoing performance project exploring Black embodiment, intergenerational memory, and healing through sound, movement, and visual media. She has produced artist-centered programming in collaboration with cultural institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Elastic Arts. She holds degrees from New York University and The University of the Art Institute Chicago, where her work engaged performance-making and collaborative practice. Her artistic and producing work emphasizes collective process, access, and the creation of immersive performance environments that bridge personal narrative with shared experience.
