Daniel Marcus is Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Columbus Museum of Art (Ohio), where he oversees the museum’s modern and contemporary collections and exhibition programs. He has recently led the relaunch of the museum’s contemporary satellite space, CMA at The Pizzuti, with the installation of a full-service bar-café by artist Tavares Strachan, Bar Room (2022/2025), and a regenerative garden project with landscape architecture firm TERREMOTO. Marcus received his PhD in the History of Art from University of California Berkeley and has previously held curatorial and academic positions at the Wexner Center for the Arts, The Ohio State University, Oberlin College, Art Center College of Design, and Swiss Institute Contemporary Art. Among his recent curatorial projects are Wild Earth: JB Blunk and Toshiko Takaezu (2025); Sharing Circles: Carol Newhouse and the WomanShare Collective (2022, co-curated with Carmen Winant); and To Begin, Again: A Prehistory of the Wex (2022). He has written widely on modern and contemporary art and is a founding editor of the peer-reviewed publication Selva: A Journal of the History of Art.
