Paola Nava

Paola Nava (Maracaibo, 1994) is a Venezuelan curator, researcher, and writer based in Santiago, Chile. She holds a degree in Journalism from Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacín and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Art Theory and History at Universidad de Chile, where she conducts research on visual memory in the Yanomami community through the work of Sheroanawe Hakihiiwe. She serves as General Coordinator of Production and Programming at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Universidad de Chile (MAC), where she has been involved in the development of exhibitions, curatorial projects, publications, and public programs. Her work foregrounds image-based systems of memory, the relationship between visuality and orality, and the persistence of symbolic forms across cultural contexts, with a particular focus on how images operate as mnemonic devices and systems of knowledge transmission.

Nava has curated and co-curated exhibitions such as Un espacio ganado by Gloria Camiruaga, Thapiri/Sueño by Sheroanawe Hakihiiwe, and Reliquias del pantano by Camilo Ortega, presented at MAC Parque Forestal. She has also developed projects in independent spaces, including Islas de luz flotan sobre el pasto (Galería CRIPTA), Te amo pero dónde estás by Elisa Alcalde (Galería Solar), and Swan Fantasy 2000 by Jessica Briceño Cisneros (Espacio 550). Since 2016, she has directed the Venezuelan literary magazine INSILIO, published and distributed in Venezuela, Chile, and Spain.
