Fiona Yu-Lun Hsu is Curator at the Taichung Art Museum, Taiwan, where she works across contemporary art exhibitions, curatorial research, and international collaboration. Trained in literature, cultural studies, and curatorial studies, she attends to socially-engaged and collective artistic practices, and to language and translation—the delays and slippages through which meaning travels across communities and borders. These concerns converge in her research on the aesthetics of migration and displacement: how artistic practices in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific register, translate, and reimagine experiences of movement whose histories are intimately entangled with global circuits of empire, labor, and diaspora. Working between museology and cultural organizing, she asks how the curatorial can hold space for critique and contestation—for polysemantic, non-linear understandings of realities and histories—and how counter-archives can render marginalized voices present within, and against, institutional memory.
Fiona is part of the founding curatorial team of the newly established Taichung Art Museum, which opened in December 2025 with the inaugural exhibition A Call of All Beings: See you tomorrow, same time, same place, and she is currently developing a group exhibition scheduled for 2027. Her curatorial project Elsewhere, Within Now (2024), developed from her proposal for ICI's Curatorial Intensive, grew out of Not Just Love Stories, an ongoing collective research and curatorial project engaging migrant communities in Taiwan through visual art and literature. In 2026, she is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Brooklyn Museum, New York. Her earlier initiatives include co-founding 'TAI – Transnational Artistic Intervention' (2022) with Thailand's Prayoon for Art Foundation under the Loei Art Festival, and serving as research project director for Bamboo Curtain Studio's 25th Anniversary Project (2019–2020).
