Stavroula Coulianidis is a New York-based curator who has dedicated her practice to exhibiting and advocating for emerging and rediscovered artists. Coulianidis is the Curator of The Clark Collection—a private collection focused on supporting visionary contemporary artists with a particular emphasis on elevating emerging and overlooked voices. She is responsible for expanding the collection’s global profile and visibility, the acquisition of new artworks, organizing exhibitions within the collection’s headquarters and developing opportunities for living artists. She is also the founder of STAV, a curatorial organization dedicated to supporting contemporary underrepresented artists.
Coulianidis has curated several exhibitions, including the pioneering group show David Drake to Bill Traylor: Where The Oven Bakes & The Pot Biles at Shin Gallery, New York (2021) where she presented works by David Drake, Joshua Johnson, Bill Traylor, Clementine Hunter, anonymous potters, and doll makers from the 19th and 20th centuries; Siobhan McBride: Never Means Always Not at Long Story Short Gallery, New York (2022-2023); Winding without Shore: Shuyi Cao at Gathering, London (2025); Sehnsucht (Longing) at YveYANG Gallery, New York (2025); Johnny Culver: Time Gates at Ricco/Maresca Gallery (2025); Li Hanwei: Bipolar Disorder at Piero Atchugarry Gallery (2025), Yves Scherer: IMAGINE at Kunstraum Heilig Geist at UNESCO-Welterbe Zollverein, Essen, Germany (2025) and The House of Escalet: Frank Diaz Escalet at The Outsider Art Fair, New York (2026). She has lectured at international galleries, private clubs, and universities; her projects have been reviewed by The New York Times, Hyperallergic, Populist Magazine, and Brooklyn Rail.
