Reyes Santiago Rojas (b. Colombia, 1981) wields materiality as a lens to examine the intersections of nature, memory, and colonization. He proposes a form of anarcheology of consumerism; using material that represents the interstice between the new and the used, to explore the endemic relationships where the natural and the artificial are confused.
Rojas holds an MFA from the Oslo National Academy of Fine Arts, KHIO, Norway (2021-2023), a Master in Artistic Production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain (2014-15), and a BFA from the National University of Colombia, Bogotá (2007-12). Recent solo exhibitions include Swept, Oslo National Academy of the Arts, KHIO, Oslo, 2023; To Earth, Oslo National Academy of the Arts, KHIO, Oslo, 2022; Tabaco/Tobacco/Tobakk, Krutthuset Oslo SA, Oslo, 2021; Gratis, FORO SPACE, Bogotá, 2019; and Lote 11.900, MIAMI Prácticas contemporáneas, Bogotá, 2016. Rojas was also a recipient of the national artistic production grant from the Ministry of Culture of Colombia in 2015.
