Judy Reissmann joins ICI as Director of Development

On Jan 9, 2024

New York, NY, USA

Judy Reissmann joins ICI as our new Director of Development! Judy brings ten years of experience in fundraising with special focus on development communications, project management, and donor engagement. She is known for her creative approaches to problem-solving and thoughtful efforts towards building relationships with constituents and colleagues.

Judy comes to ICI from her Director role at CCS Fundraising, a strategic fundraising consulting firm that partners with nonprofits for transformational change. As a Director at CCS, Judy partnered with nonprofit leaders across all sectors in pursuit of their missions. She worked with Berkeley Carroll School (a private preK-12th grade school in Brooklyn) and with Ocean Conservancy in Washington, D.C. to conduct Fundraising Assessments, evaluate development operations, and identify potential opportunities for growth.

Judy provides Development consultation to Charm City Cultural Cultivation (Charm City), a Baltimore arts organization founded by contemporary artist Derrick Adams. She works with Charm City and their various programs to provide Development support in pursuit of growth and stability for the organization. Prior to her role at CCS, Judy worked independently as a development consultant partnering with nonprofit organizations focused on equity, and inclusion, as well as education and health; namely Represented Foundation and The Center for Discovery. She spent the early years of her professional career at NYU Langone’s Development Shop, closing out as a Donor Engagement and Communications Manager. In this role, she created effective engagement opportunities between gift officers and donors, growing their interest and commitments to fundraising targets.

Judy collaborated closely with all Major Gift Officers creating proposals and data reports while providing new processes and strategies to maintain and build relationships with donors. Judy had a particular focus on creating meaningful touch points with donors, managing, and executing stewardship strategies for Medical Center Trustees. In 2020, Judy was selected as the project lead for an innovative publication highlighting scholarship students benefiting from NYU Langone’s newly announced Tuition-Free Initiative. She developed a tuition-free focused publication sent to over 1,000 high-level donors using a human centered approach to portray scholarship students in support of a tuition free Medical School.

Judy is from Eswatini, Southern Africa and came to the US in 2008 to study. She holds an MPA from the Wagner School of Public Service with a focus on International Health Policy, and a BA in Sociology with a minor in Studio Art and Urban Studies from Colorado College. In addition to being a development professional, Judy is a multidisciplinary artist, expressing herself as a photographer, writer, illustrator, and painter with a focus on portraiture; she loves exploring new ways to create and connect through art.
