Independent Curators International (ICI) supports the work of curators to help create stronger art communities through experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement. Curators are arts community leaders and organizers who champion artistic practice; build essential infrastructures and institutions; and generate public engagement with art. Our collaborative programs connect curators across generations, and across social, political and cultural borders. They form an international framework for sharing knowledge and resources — promoting cultural exchange, access to art, and public awareness for the curator’s role.
Rosana Sancin is a Ljubljana and Lisbon based curator and writer. She has been the programmer of the Ljubljana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival since 2010. She is the founder of the blog and curatorial platform Societé Anonyme. From 2004 – 2008 she was running the not-for-profit art space Papaya Projects. She curated the exhibition Irwin: History Re-constructed for a major Portuguese art institution, Culturgest, in 2007. At a curatorial residency in Berlin in 2011 she began the ongoing research project Curators on the Move. She contributes to contemporary art magazine Artecapital.

This fall Independent Curators International (ICI) produces the Curatorial Intensive: Curating Beyond Exhibition-Making, the first short course to offer training to curators on the concepts and logistics of organizing public events, workshops and other discursive program formats.read more »
