Independent Curators International (ICI) produces exhibitions, events, publications, research and training opportunities for curators and diverse audiences around the world. Established in 1975 and headquartered in New York, ICI is a hub that connects emerging and established curators, artists, and art spaces, forging international networks and generating new forms of collaborations. ICI provides access to the people and practices that are key to current developments in the field, inspiring fresh ways of seeing and contextualizing contemporary art.
Eric Golo Stone
Eric Golo Stone is an artist, curator, and writer based in Los Angeles. His practices consistently examine how artists inform conditions and relations that constitute the reception of their aesthetic works. He has recently been appointed Curator of Discursive Programs at LA >< ART, where he is launching a sequence of original programming initiatives beginning January of 2013. In 2011, he founded Exhibitions Research Forum, an outfit that organizes working-group discussions supporting artists’ engagement with curatorial activity and the exhibitory context for their work. His research interests include discourses of institutional critique, theorizations of the curatorial, and expanded models of gallery education. He received a MFA from CalArts and Masters from the Art and Curatorial Practices in the Public Sphere program at the University of Southern California.
This fall Independent Curators International (ICI) produces the Curatorial Intensive: Curating Beyond Exhibition-Making, the first short course to offer training to curators on the concepts and logistics of organizing public events, workshops and other discursive program formats.read more »
