Sarah Demeuse is a Brooklyn based curator, translator, and writer. In 2013, She was a member of the 9th Mercosul Biennial curatorial team. In February 2011, Demeuse coordinated Mark Manders’s solo exhibition in Mexico City at Museo de Arte Carillo Gil (MACG) and Casa Barragán. A year earlier, Demeuse, together with Manuela Moscoso, co-founded Rivet, a curatorial office that investigates notions of deployment, circulation, exercise, and resonance through exhibition making, publications, events, and workshops. The primary focus for Rivet is longer-term projects in close collaboration with artists. In recent years, Rivet has developed projects in collaboration with ICI, the Goethe-Institute, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, and P! in New York, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, as well as with partners in Beirut, Belgium, Norway, and Spain. Sarah Demeuse’s writing has appeared in Art Papers, Arquine, Bulletins of the Serving Library, Kunsthart, Paper Monument, Art in America, and Triple Canopy, among others. She holds a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from University of California Berkeley, and an MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College.
