This latest iteration of The Backroom, was curated by Andrea Valencia Arnada, Laura August, Jaime Ruíz Martínez, Humberto Moro, and José López Serra, at museotamayo.org/thebackroom. Available in English and Spanish.
Since September 2020, ICI and Museo Tamayo, Mexico, have collaborated on The Backroom, a digital space to discover and navigate art beyond the art object, based on a project initiated by Magalí Arriola, Kate Fowle, and Renaud Proch in 2005. Every two weeks, on a platform hosted on Museo Tamayo's website, guest curators presented a selection of materials that nourish and inform the practices of three artists of their choice: objects of desire, personal archives, libraries, artistic research, music, routines, films, biographies; art is in a permanent exchange with the world that surrounds it.
