Independent Curators International (ICI) supports the work of curators to help create stronger art communities through experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement. Curators are arts community leaders and organizers who champion artistic practice; build essential infrastructures and institutions; and generate public engagement with art. Our collaborative programs connect curators across generations, and across social, political and cultural borders. They form an international framework for sharing knowledge and resources — promoting cultural exchange, access to art, and public awareness for the curator’s role.
Stephanie Baptist

Stephanie Baptist is a Brooklyn based independent cultural producer and editor. For over a decade she has collaborated with noted contemporary artists, organizations and individuals. She is the Editorial Director of forthcoming publication Àsìkò (2017) and has previously served as Program Director for En Foco, a non profit photography organization dedicated to cultural diversity and as Head of Exhibitions and Public Programs for Tiwani Contemporary an art gallery dedicated to African and diaspora art in London. Stephanie has edited a number of publications such as, Rotimi-Fani Kayode (1955-1989), Simone Leigh and Njedika Akunyili: I Always Face You Even When it Seems Otherwise, Mary Evans: Cut and Paste, and Barbara Walker: As Seen. She has also been contributing editor for Another Africa and London/NY Correspondent for Contemporary And. She has an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths University of London.
